Abstract
The interaction between rare-earth elements (REEs) and a carbonate ion is studied to examine the possibility of separating REEs during the re-extraction process from an acidic extractant with sodium carbonate solution. It is shown that REEs are effectively re-extracted from an organic phase of imidophosphazene with Na2CO3 solution (2 mol/L), but REEs are not separated into subgroups because of the different solubility of the carbonate precipitates.
