Progress in the Science of Surface Forces: From the Concept of Disjoining Pressure to Modern Nanotechnologies

Abstract

Stages in the development in studies of surface forces and thin liquid films are briefly summarized. The main achievements of the Laboratory of Surface Forces in the physical chemistry of surface phenomena are reviewed, including entirely new results obtained by its researchers.
