Abstract

The solubility system of acetic acid-triethanolamine-water has been studied by an observational polythermal method in the temperature range from –44.6 to 33.8°C. The crystallization fields of ice, triethanolamine, acetic acid, and triethanolammonium acetate have been identified in the system. By adding triethanolamine to acetic acid solutions of various concentrations at a temperature of 25°C, the pH, density, viscosity, and refractive index have been studied, and a diagram of “composition-properties” has been constructed based on the results. Studies have shown that a solution of 75.0% triethanolammonium acetate can be obtained.
