Abstract

By analysis of the published data on the structure of crystalline and liquid ethylenediamine (En) and conformations of this molecule in the solid, liquid, and gas phases, geometric patterns of in the En crystal structure were distinguished, the molecular conformations in the crystal were identified, the energy of the N-H⋯N hydrogen bonds was estimated, and a model of structural rearrangement during melting of crystalline En was proposed.
