Abstract
Nanopowders of Y3Fe5O12 have been obtained by codeposition and subsequent heat treatment of yttrium and iron hydroxides. The effects of temperature and time of heat treatment on the average size, morphology, and magnetic characteristics of the nanoparticles obtained have been investigated. It has been shown that at temperatures exceeding 1000°C and times of heat treatment above 4 h the powders are completely crystalline. It has been established that an increase in temperature of the heat treatment leads to an increase in the saturation magnetization σs; the maximum value of σs is equal to 26.5 A m2/kg.
