Abstract

Principles of the system analysis in geological investigations are discussed with the description of different levels in matter organization, their similarities, and peculiar features. It is shown that the concept of “paragenesis,” which underwent evolution through time, changes its essence during transition from the lower (chemical element, mineral, rock-facies) to the higher (formation, rock basin, stratisphere) levels of geological systems.
