Abstract
The crystallographic analysis of the structure of BaV6O11, a representative of the АV6O11 (А = Na, K, Sr, Pb, Ba) family, allows us to establish its similarity with the structures of SrAl12O19 and BaFe18O27 polytypes with conjugated cation and anion (together with a large cation) sublattices that have common nodal planes in the mirror symmetry planes perpendicular to the hexagonal axis. The relative stability of the structures is estimated from their composition and symmetry.
