Abstract
Photolysis of [Rh(NH3)5NO2](NO3)2 aqueous solutions is studied using 15N NMR spectroscopy. It is established that irradiation at room temperature leads to the exchange of nitrite ligand 15NO −2 by 14NO −2 in the complex with a measurable rate. In dark conditions, the process is not observed for several weeks. A mechanism of photolysis is proposed.
