Abstract

The quantum yield of 2-mercaptobenzothiazole (MBT) degradation photosensitized by dyes in the presence of surfactants (CPCl, CPBr, CTAB, SDS, TX100) increases in aqueous solutions for both molecular and ionic forms of MBT. The mechanism of the photosensitized degradation of 2-mercaptobenzothiazole in the presence of surfactants is proposed.
