Calorimetric study of low-temperature postradiation telomerization of tetrafluoroethylene in ethanol and trifluoroethanol

Abstract

A calorimetric study of low-temperature radiation telomerization of tetrafluoroethylene in ethanol and trifluoroethanol has been performed. The phase state of reaction mixtures of different compositions in the temperature range of 77–300 K and the process kinetics have been studied depending on the radiation dose and the monomer concentration. The temperature range of the reaction, its effectiveness, and the properties of the resulting telomers depend on the chemical properties of the solvent used.
