Abstract

The areas of the precipitation to Earth of high-energy electrons injected into the near-Earth space from a point source in a geostationary orbit are constructed. The geomagnetic field is modeled by the superposition of the first four spherical harmonics of the Gaussian series. The indicated regions are compared with the precipitation regions constructed earlier for the dipole model of the geomagnetic field. Its possible influence on the configuration of areas of precipitation of the field created by magnetospheric currents is considered.
