Abstract

A new species Tryphon levanticus sp. n. is described from Israel and compared with the closely related T. atriceps Stephens, 1835. Both species differ from their congeners in the knife-like ovipositor sheath and in an unusual egg without petiolus and with knob(disk)-like anchor lying close to the middle of the dorsal surface of the egg.
