Abstract

Mortality of adult beetles of several grain pest species (Sitophilus oryzae L., S. granarius L., Tribolium confusum Duv., Rhizopertha dominica F., and Oryzaephilus surinamensis L.) was studied under the experimental exposure to grain treated with biinsecticide containing pirimiphos-methyl (40%) and bifenthrin (1%). It was concluded that the response of the beetles to the simultaneous presence of both compounds needed to be specially studied before suggesting the use of complex insecticide. A dose of 15 mL of biinsecticide per 1 t of grain appeared to be sufficient for total extermination of the pests in the treated grain within 7 days.
