Abstract

This Field Note reflects the acculturation process of an American psychotherapist to clinical practice in Ireland. As such, it reports on “participant observation” in several domains, including the therapeutic setting and popular culture. Central to the psychological processes described is the recognition of a clinician’s evolving cultural identity, recognized through a parallel process made discernable through the activity of writing this report.
