Abstract
Globalization has made an inescapable impact on almost every country, even those temporarily adopting a closed-door policy. At the same time, every country has influencing globalization, albeit at varying magnitudes. Although developing countries are generally more affected, their own influence on the global economy is growing rapidly. This apparent interaction necessitates that we first understand how a developing country grows in a situation of globalization. If we do not understand this, we would not be able to predict how the country would affect the global economy. This book investigates the influence of globalization on developing countries at the firm level; specifically, the influence of foreign firms from developed countries on the growth of indigenous firms in developing countries, by exemplifying China’s electronics industry.
