Abstract

This chapter focuses on how adults listen to the voices of children and young people and engage in a dialogue to create meaningful participation that is accessible and inclusive, rather than tokenistic. Complexities of participation are explored, examining dierent levels of engagement with young people involved in a consultation process with a Safeguarding Children’s Board, where they had the opportunity to express their views as part of a collaborative process with adults.
