The Introduction outlines key issues and research questions explored in this book. It covers the state of art concerning violence against parents, its history and potential interdisciplinary connections with a variety of social sciences and humanities. The book editors provide a main framework for chapters to be analysed and understood as a whole narrative on various aspects of the history of violence against parents.
