Abstract
This chapter follows the same pattern as Chap. 3, and presents three case studies of senior women chairing meetings in the UK. These cases feature: Anna, who is a relatively new leader to her team and is trying to gain acceptance for a strategic approach to team meetings; Julie, who is HR Director of a large team and attempting to explain the management’s aims for ‘restructuring’ the company; and Nicola, a Managing Director, who is discussing the need for cost savings and the possible redundancy of members of the workforce. In parallel with Chap. 3, this chapter uses FPDA to analyse each case study in turn, and makes a comparative analysis of the case studies through the lens of Holmes’ (2006) leadership linguistic repertoire model.
