Abstract: The paper describes the characteristics of the situation in the production and use of aluminosilicate raw materials for the production of refractory materials. It describes the technology and the individual qualities, and discusses the availability and suitability of raw materials. This paper discusses the issue of the fine fraction fireclay, which is not suitable for firing in a shaft furnace, as well as perspectives and characteristics of new refractory aggregates with an Al2O3 content higher than 45%.
