Abstract
The challenge in spermatic cord tumours is to differentiate between benign and malignant tumours so we can avoid unnecessary orchiectomy especially in atypical presentations. The authors report herein the case of a solitary spermatic cord leiomyoma that had been referred for the suspicion of incarcerated inguinal hernia. An orchiectomy was conducted because the mass was contiguous with the vas deferens and the testicular vessels. Malignancy is suspected when the inguinal mass is large, symptomatic or with rapid growth, and intraoperative frozen section after the mass ablation can be performed to confirm malignancy.
