Abstract

For the first time nitrogen-, sulfur- and carboxylate containing highly alkaline AKI-224 and AKI-223 additives for motor oils have been obtained by condensation of sulfur-containing alkyl phenols with amino acetic acid and formaldehyde and condensation products of mixed sulfurized alkyl phenols and Mannish base obtained by amino methylation of methylene is alkyl phenol with amino acetic acid followed by neutralization of the resulting products with excess calcium hydroxide and carbonation with carbon dioxide. The structure of the synthesized additives was confirmed by IR spectroscopy and dynamic light scattering. At the same time, the functional properties of the obtained additives in the composition of motor oils were studied. It has been established that they have high anticorrosive, antioxidant, neutralizing and detergent properties therefore they can be used as multifunctional additives to motor oils. With the use of AKI-224 additive, M-10G2 lubricant composition was developed with high performance indicators meeting modern technical requirements.
