Abstract

Background

Cervical carcinoma is 4th most commonly occurring malignancy in women worldwide. The most common site of metastasis is lung via hematogenous route. Among cervical cancer patients, most frequently occurring secondary malignancy is lung cancer due to higher chances of smoking-related malignancies in squamous cell histology. This case is regarding successfully treated carcinoma cervix with having delayed occurrence of unusual lung lesion which is difficult to diagnose.

Case Presentation

Herein, we discuss a successfully treated carcinoma cervix by chemoradiation in a 36-year-old female with delayed occurrence of lung lesion after 4 years which presented as symptoms like Pancoast tumor due to its unusual site of occurrence and was managed by radiotherapy for symptom palliation.

Conclusion

It is important to review clinical features, radiological findings, histopathological examination, and immunohistochemical findings in the correct diagnosis of secondary lung lesion whether it is being metastatic lesion from primary cervical cancer or second primary malignancy occurring in lung. It is important to be aware of and know how to deal with such secondary lesions.
