Abstract
Appendiceal gastroenteropancreatic neuroendocrine tumors (AGEP-NETs) represent the most common primary neoplasm in the appendix. In contrast with gastroenteropancreatic neuroendocrine tumors (GEP-NETs) in other organs, the majority of AGEP-NETs arise sporadically, and their synchronous presentation with colon cancer is rare. We report a case of an AGEP-NET incidentally detected in a patient who underwent surgery for an obstructing adenocarcinoma of the right colon.
