Abstract

To further improve the color yield and color fastness of disperse dyes (DDs) in washing-free printing, fluorosilicone-modified polyacrylate (FSMPA) was prepared as a new washing-free printing binder. The structure, thermal behaviors, surface characteristics, and washing-free printing properties of FSMPA were intensively investigated. The migration-diffusion-fixation mechanisms of DDs from a polymer binder film to PET were tentatively explored. The results showed that when the molar ratio of 1,3,5-tris(3,3,3-trifluoropropyl) methylcyclotrisiloxane (D3F) to octamethylcyclotetrasiloxane (D4) was 1:10 in the preparation of the modifier double-terminated vinyl polyfluoroalkyl siloxane (DVFS) and the dose of DVFS in the preparation of FSMPA was 9%, the printed polyester fabric exhibited excellent washing-free printing properties. Compared with polyacrylate (PA) and silicon-modified polyacrylate (SMPA), FSMPA has better color yield and color fastness. The glass transition temperature of FSMPA was decreased, the enrichment of fluorosilicone chains on the surface of FSMPA film was facilitated, and the hydrophobicity of FSMPA was improved. Thus, the difference in solubility parameters between the DDs and polymer binder film was increased, and the migration of the DDs from the FSMPA film to the PET substrate was promoted.
