Abstract

Taxonomic and faunistic evidences for nine ichneumonid species that belong to seven genera of Phygadeuontini (Hymenoptera: Ichneumonidae: Cryptinae) occurring in Iran, are documented. The examined specimens were collected using Malaise traps and sweeping nets during 2013–2016 from various localities in Iran. Four new generic records, i.e., Charitopes Förster, 1869; Hemiteles Gravenhorst, 1829; Stibeutes Förster, 1850 and Theroscopus Förster, 1863, each represented by a single species, have been recorded as new for the fauna of Iran. Stibeutes amini sp. n. Zardouei & Rakhshani is described and illustrated. Five species, i.e., Charitopes carri (Roman, 1923), Gelis longicauda Bogacev, 1963, Hemiteles similis (Gmelin, 1790), Theroscopus hemipteron (Riche, 1791) and Zoophthorus macrops Bordera & Horstmann, 1995 are also recorded for the first time in the Iranian fauna. Detailed diagnoses, illustrations of the morphological characters of Phygadeuontini that occur in Iran are provided.
