Key Points.
• GERD was common in obesity (34.3%), despite competent EGJ anti-reflux pressure.
• Higher VSR was associated with elevated TAPG, which is a risk factor for GERD.
• VSR may play an important role in pathophysiology of obesity-related GERD.
