Abstract
Gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GIST) can be located anywhere in the gastrointestinal tract. The revealing symptoms are resulting from complications: obstruction, bleeding perforation. All GIST should be considered to have a malignant potential. Complete surgical resection (R0) is the only potentially curative treatment. We present the case of generalized peritonitis due to a perforated GIST located in the bilio-pancreatic limb of a gastric bypass.
