The article presents the results of studies of finely ground feldspar and talc-chlorite wastes from mining enterprises of the Republic of Karelia as a new mineral raw material for facing and heat-insulating materials and stationary heat accumulators (fireplaces and furnaces). The physicomechanical and thermophysical properties of materials based on finely ground waste and local clay are assessed. The materials produced from pegmatite waste are characterized by high strength and can be used for facing furnaces and fireplaces. Heat-insulating materials based on talc-chlorite waste have low thermal expansion at 20 – 900°C, their heat resistance increases by 9 times (980°C – water), and their bending strength is 2.6 times higher than that of samples containing talc waste.
