Development and Validation of a Method for Simultaneous Quantification of Dihydroquercetin and Secoisolariciresinol

  • Published:
Pharmaceutical Chemistry Journal Aims and scope

A method for simultaneous quantitative analysis of dihydroquercetin and secoisolariciresinol using HPLC with a diode-array detector (DAD) was developed, validated, and used for quantitative determination of the main polyphenol components of larch (Larix dahurica Turcz.) knotwood. The content of flavonoid dihydroquercetin was 59.89 ± 0.8%; of lignan secoisolariciresinol, 22.38 ± 0.24%. The analytical range of the method was 50 – 1500 μg/mL for dihydroquercetin and 100 – 1500 μg/mL for secoisolariciresinol. The agreement of the results (RSD, %) was ≤1.2%.
