The effect of high-temperature “internal” nitriding (at a temperature of 1075°C) and subsequent heat treatment on the mechanical properties and fracture behavior of thin-sheet specimens of ferritic corrosion-resistant steels 08Kh17T and 15Kh25T under static tension is studied. Athermochemical treatment providing effective uniform hardening of the whole of the volume of the material at enough ductility margin at testing temperatures from 20 to 700°C is suggested.
