Calculation of Stresses in Composite Strips with Cracks on the Base of Modified Integral Equations Taking into Account the Contact of their Edges

  • Published:
Materials Science Aims and scope

An algorithm for studying stresses at curvilinear cracks in an anisotropic strip, based on the method of singular integral equations is developed. The kernels of the integral equations are written based on a Green-type solution, so the boundary conditions at the rectilinear boundaries of the strip are fulfilled identically. Green’s solution is obtained for isolated and periodically placed cracks. Stresses in composite strips with cracks under the action of tension, pure bending, three-point bending and concentrated forces are determined.
