Effect of the Filtering Layer of Silver Nanoparticles and Magnesium Oxide on the Physicochemical Properties of Water

  • Published:
Materials Science Aims and scope

We present the results of investigations of the influence of a filtering layer of silver and magnesium-oxide (MgO–Ag) nanoparticles on the hardness of water and admissible contents of iron and phosphorus. It is shown that, by using a layer of this kind, it is possible to decrease the contents of iron and phosphorus. It is also established that, in view of the saturation of water with particles of silver and magnesium oxide, the hardness of water decreases and we get a better chemical composition of tap water.
