Abstract
In this work, the magnetic and electromagnetic wave absorbing properties of pure BaM and Al-Cr-Nd-substituted BaM ferrite prepared by a co-precipitation technique with different annealing temperatures (900, 1000, and 1100 ∘C) were investigated. To study the structural characteristics of ferrites, X-ray diffraction analysis was used and the resultant patterns with various annealing temperatures at 900, 1000, and 1100 ∘C were compared. In addition, the investigation of the morphology of nanoparticles was carried out by field emission scanning electron microscopy. Fourier-transform infrared analysis was utilized to confirm the formation of hexagonal ferrite phase for powders annealed at 900, 1000, and 1100 ∘C. A vibrating sample magnetometer was used, in order to examine the magnetic properties of synthesized hexaferrites. The study of microwave properties was carried out by a vector network analyzer. The results showed that the maximum absorption value (−13.46 dB) was attributed to the sample having the x content of 0.5 and annealed at 900 ∘C, with the bandwidth of 3.8 GHz being higher than −5 dB.
