Abstract

A organobismuth (V) dithiocarbamate complex, [PhBiS2CN(C2H5)2Cl]n has been synthesized and characterized by IR, element analysis, 1H NMR and X-ray diffraction single crystal analysis. The complex crystallizes in the monoclinic crystal system, space group P2(1)/c. is coordinated by two sulphur atoms, a carbon atom from benzene ring and two chlorine atoms. The complex leads to one-dimensional zigzag chain structure by a bridging chlorine atom to link metal ions and two adjacent chains are bridged by C–H⋯C interactions. Furthermore, the photocatalytic experiments of the complex on degradation of rhodamine B (RhB) manifest that the complex is good candidate for the photocatalytic degradation of RhB.
