Forced Vibrations and Dissipative Heating of a Hinged Bimorph Rectangular Plate with Open Electrodes

  • Published:
International Applied Mechanics Aims and scope

The problem of the forced vibrations and dissipative heating of piezoelectric rectangular plates with open electrodes and hinged ends under harmonic surface uniform pressure is stated. The electromechanical problem is reduced to an infinite system of algebraic equations. The exact analytical solution of this system is found and the exact analytical solution of the energy equation is obtained for vibrations at the first resonant frequency. A formula for the critical pressure reaching which the plate no longer performs its function due to loss of the piezoeffect is derived.
