Selection of Parameters for Water-Storage Power Plants with Consideration of their Operating Characteristics in the Power System

  • Published:
Power Technology and Engineering Aims and scope

The role of water-storage power plants (WSPP) is analyzed as a source of maneuverable power when operating in a power system. Alternate schemes of compensation of WSPP expenditures are examined for operation in regimes guaranteeing systems reliability. Aprocedure for selection of rational regimes for WSPP operation, which take into account systems effectiveness of a given power entity is presented. Test results of the a procedure proposed were analyzed in an example of the operation of the Dnestr WSPP and the United Power System of Ukraine.
