Efficiencies of Jet Pumps

It is suggested that determination of the efficiency of a jet pump be formulated as a function of the configuration of the hydraulic system. For three configurations of a system proposed for pumping liquid from one tank to another, the dependence of the efficiency on the coefficient of injection and the relative dimensions of the nozzle is presented in the form of formulas, and graphically. Regions of variation in independent variables in which efficiency assumes greatest significance are indicated. Results obtained will be useful for design of jet pumps.
