The functioning of selective protection of a DC overhead cable transmission line when modeling short circuits at different points of the line is verified. It is shown that the developed algorithm of the selective protection of a line is capable of revealing short circuits on the line, taking into account the non-zero transition resistance at the short-circuit location, determining the location of the damage and generating an appropriate disconnection signal.
