Heat-insulation ceramic materials were obtained on the basis of oil-shale wastes without using conventional raw material. The character of the phase transformations accompanying the firing of the ceramic materials was studied. It was shown that at temperature 950°C the liquid phase formed initiates the crystallization of mullite at firing temperature 1050°C.
