A New 4-Pyrane from Michelia figo

A new pyran-4-one, figopyrane (2,3-dimethoxy-6-methyl-4H-pyran-4-one) (1), was isolated from the roots of Michelia figo. The structure of the new constituent was essentially elucidated by spectral evidence.
