Rheadinin, a New Bis(styrylpyrone) from Mycelium of Inonotus rheades

  • Published:
Chemistry of Natural Compounds Aims and scope

A new bis(styrylpyrone) was isolated from mycelium of Inonotus rheades (Pers.) P. Karst. (Hymenochaetaceae, strain 0186) and identified using UV, IR, MS, and NMR spectroscopy as 3,3-ethylidene-bis[4-hydroxy-6-(4-hydroxystyryl)-2H-pyran-2-one] (rheadinin). In addition, 11 known compounds were found. HPLC showed that mycelium of I. rheades contained more styrylpyrones than fruiting bodies.
