This review summarizes studies on new methods of synthesis of (benzo)-pyrrolo[1,2-a]imidazolones published over the past 15 years. Synthetic methods include classical thermal heating in solvents, the use of basic catalysis, flash vacuum pyrolysis, and microwave synthesis.
