An algorithm for reconstruction of three-dimensional images in computed X-ray tomography with a cone irradiation beam

Biomedical Engineering Aims and scope

Abstract

An algorithm for the reconstruction of three-dimensional images in X‑ray computed tomography with a cone irradiation beam was developed. The algorithm is based on the precise analytical representation of a 3D Radon transform of the projection data. Modeling of the algorithm showed that high-quality tomographic images are obtained at large source irradiation cone angles.
