Determination of Optical Characteristics of Scattering Biological Media Based on Bimodality Effect of Temporal Distribution of Laser Pulses

  • Published:
Biomedical Engineering Aims and scope

A method for simultaneous determination of absorption and scattering coefficients and the anisotropy factor of scattering media is described. This method is based on the bimodal effect of the temporal distribution of short laser pulses after their propagation through a homogeneous scattering layer. Spectral dependences of these physical characteristics were obtained for model biological scattering samples.
