Maintaining and Improving the Accuracy of Feed-Water Flow Measurement and Thermal Power Determination in NPP Reactor Units

  • Published:
Atomic Energy Aims and scope

An analysis of the error of the feed-water flow rate measured in NPP reactor units with the help of regular flow meters based on restrictive devices is presented. A comparison is made of the methods and technical means allowing in-line metrological tracking of feed-water flow rate measurements. The rationale for using ultrasonic flow meters to maintain the accuracy of measurements of the feed-water flow rate performed with regular devices is given. The possibility of using high-accuracy ultrasonic flow meters to increase the rated thermal power of power units is examined.
