Abstract

The proposed paper deals with experimental validation of the Novel PRESH (PRES + RESH) controller for TPSPPS (Three Phase Solar Photovoltaic Power System). Presently, the common technique that is generally used for mitigating harmonics from TPSPPS is the RC (Resonant Current) controller, which makes use of a parallel combination of PRES (Proportional Resonant) and RESH (Resonant Harmonic) controller where the difference between input current and reference current is processed through proportional controller and resonant controller, but these techniques fail as whenever any disturbances or harmonics occur in the reference signal, it will get transferred to grid current. To overcome this, a novel PRESH controller is proposed, which is also a combination of PRES and RESH, but in this inverter current is used as input to a compensator of lower forward gain instead of applying the difference between reference current signal and grid current as in the conventional RC (Resonant Current) controller. Further, experimental validation is done to investigate Novel PRESH controller reliability in terms of attenuating inter-harmonic and its ability to tackle even if the reference waveform gets distorted.
