Large pelvic mass in an 11-year-old girl

Zusammenfassung

Eine fast 12-jährige Patientin stellte sich mit abdominalen Schmerzen im Unterbauch vor. Eine tastbare Schwellung konnte sonographisch als Hämatometrokolpos bei bisher nicht erkannter Hymenalatresie diagnostiziert werden. Nach operativer Hymenalektomie war die Patientin beschwerdefrei.

Abstract

A nearly 12-year-old girl was sent to the hospital with lower abdominal pain. Ultrasonographic examination showed an echolucent cystic pelvic mass. A hematocolpometra because of an imperforate hymen was diagnosed. The girl did well after surgical hymenectomy.
