Summary
Differences between tomato genotypes (Lycopersicon esculentum Mill.) in stomatal resistance (rs) and specific leaf fresh weight (SLFW) were observed under low light intensity and low night temperature. No relationship between rs and previously published rates of net photosynthesis per dm2 leaf area (PA) was discovered. A negative relationship between SLFW and net photosynthesis per gram fresh weight (PFW) was found but no clear relationship between SLFW and PA. Genotypes with a low SLFW seem better adapted to a low light intensity.
