Abstract

The term “agriculture” is a science or an art that defines all the processes that takes place in a field starting from preparing the land for cultivation till the end of harvesting the crop. Currently, India is ranking fourth in the total agriculture contribution for the world and agriculture is the backbone of our country. Around 60.43% of land in India is being used for agriculture as recognized by World Bank, still there are some issues that our country is facing. Despite covering that much amount of land, it keeps on shrinking every year, the resources are not being utilized efficiently, adverse climatic changes and fertility of the soil decreasing, all these issues are interconnected resulting in agriculture losing its value. Optimization of resources and proper techniques can help improve the problems being faced. Technology can play a very important role in this regard. Our project proposes a model that can help in optimizing agricultural process. We have deployed sensors to monitor soil water content, to facilitate irrigation system for the field, detecting any fire accidents which can result in destruction of all the hard work put in by the farmer. Along with these, crop disease detection and receiving the weather forecast details of the area or town, thereby making sure crops are not destroyed due to any diseases or by adverse climatic conditions so that farmers can take appropriate action, all these with the help of a web application that works in a user friendly way.
