Abstract
The development of short-form video has established a new order for global video relationships, which has not only triggered a new round of competition with long-form video and its platforms but also promoted the emergence of a new video form: medium-form video and its platforms. Thus, the competitive landscape of short-form video, medium-form video, and long-form video has taken shape. This chapter examines the current platform landscape under this new order from the perspective of Chinese video platforms. In particular, we examine the status quo and the development of medium-form and long-form video platforms. As a powerful content exporter in a videolised society and a strong driving force for the internet, video platforms will continue to spawn new industries and structures in the future while writing a new chapter in the development of a videolised society.
